Neighborhood Happenings: Flatiron District

With thousands of eateries in New York City, navigating the ever-changing food scene can be overwhelming for the lifelong New Yorker, let alone for the newcomer! Whether you are new to NYC, or simply new to the Flatiron District, we’ve come prepared with some of the best places to catch a bit to eat in the Flatiron neighborhood.

  • ABC Kitchen: Voted the best restaurant in America by the James Beard Foundation, is conveniently located right in the Flatiron District! ABC Kitchen is set apart by its sustainably developed decor and beautifully light environment, but this is only the beginning.  Their seasonal menu sets the benchmark for what locally sourced farm-to-table food should be. Check out the full menu here: http://www.abchome.com/eat/abc-kitchen/
  • Cafe El Presidente: Self described as an “all-day Mexico City style cafe”, Cafe El Presidente honors Mexican culture through their decor and authentic, cosmopolitan menu options.  Priding themselves on their sustainably sourced ingredients, Cafe El Presidente makes all their dishes from scratch and boasts an in-house tortilleria that rolls out fresh corn and flour tortillas all day long! http://tacombi.com/locations/cafe-el-presidente
  • Park Avenue: A former staple of the Upper East Side has since relocated and now calls the Flatiron District home.  This establishment, known for its seasonally changing menu, decor and name is currently in “winter” mode offering dishes like a roasted butternut soup, miso glazed brussel sprouts, and Long Island Duck. Stop by soon before they unveil their Spring menu! http://parkavenyc.com/

Upton Q and A with Ralph Greene

Q: How did you find your way to Upton?

A: After doing extensive research on some of the city’s top boutique real estate agencies, I found that Upton best fit the work-style I was hoping to become a part of. Once I applied and received an interview, I knew I had made the correct choice.

Q: What do you like most about the job and the office’s work environment?

A: Its a small and friendly environment. It allows all of the employees to work to their full potential, both inside and outside the office.

Q: What have you learned since working for the Upton team?

A: I have learned that a strong team is just as important, if not more important, than a strong individual. There is always someone who can teach you more.

Want to get to know Ralph better? Think he could find you the perfect place?

Upton Agent Spotlight! Get to know Michal Sudo:

Michal is currently in his first year at the Macaulay Honor Scholar’s program at Baruch College where he plans to earn his degree in accounting.  Michal realized his passion for the business field early in his college career and credits Upton Realty Group as providing him with an outlet to explore and strengthen his interest.

For Michal, the most appealing aspect of real estate is its ability to attract people of all different personalities, goals, and histories.  New York provides the ability to work with a diverse group of clients, which makes coming to work always enjoyable.  He says, “No two clients are the same and catering to each of their needs and expectations means there is a constantly changing atmosphere.”

As a fairly new member to the Upton team, learning the tricks of the trade has been easy with such helpful co-workers. Many other Upton brokers have been part of the team for a while and they all have plenty to offer in terms of teaching and imparting experience.   All the members have a great deal of determination to make the renting and buying experience as easy as possible for their clients.

Think Michal is the right agent for you?
