Neighborhood Happenings: Flatiron District

With thousands of eateries in New York City, navigating the ever-changing food scene can be overwhelming for the lifelong New Yorker, let alone for the newcomer! Whether you are new to NYC, or simply new to the Flatiron District, we’ve come prepared with some of the best places to catch a bit to eat in the Flatiron neighborhood.

  • ABC Kitchen: Voted the best restaurant in America by the James Beard Foundation, is conveniently located right in the Flatiron District! ABC Kitchen is set apart by its sustainably developed decor and beautifully light environment, but this is only the beginning.  Their seasonal menu sets the benchmark for what locally sourced farm-to-table food should be. • Cafe El Presidente: Self described as an “all-day Mexico City style cafe”, Cafe El Presidente honors Mexican culture through their decor and authentic, cosmopolitan menu options.  Priding themselves on their sustainably sourced ingredients, Cafe El Presidente makes all their dishes from scratch and boasts an in-house tortilleria that rolls out fresh corn and flour tortillas all day long! http://tacombi.com/locations/cafe-el-presidente
  • Park Avenue: A former staple of the Upper East Side has since relocated and now calls the Flatiron District home.  This establishment, known for its seasonally changing menu, decor and name is currently in “winter” mode offering dishes like a roasted butternut soup, miso glazed brussel sprouts, and Long Island Duck. Stop by soon before they unveil their Spring menu! http://parkavenyc.com/
